calligraphies in conversation 2017
On Sunday, September 17, at 1- 5 p.m. at the San Francisco Public Library (SFPL), the “Calligraphies in Conversation” 4th International Exhibition opened with a public reception. The exhibition is one of the few of its kind exploring connections between calligraphy traditions and practices from different cultures and languages through the world. SFPL is cooperating with the partner organization Ziya Art Center and Multiverse Art Gallery with the support of Friends of San Francisco Public Library to create bridges between people in San Francisco Bay Area and the world through this unique, multicultural venue.
 
“Calligraphies in Conversation” encompasses a group exhibition and a series of public events including calligraphy demonstrations, workshops, and calligraphers’ talks and presentations focusing on endorsing the appreciation of traditional calligraphy in hands-on and tangible manner.
 
This exhibition fosters a new dialogue between different calligraphic arts and artists. “Calligraphies in Conversation” is one of the few of its kind exploring connections between calligraphy traditions and practices from different cultures and languages  through the world.
